Flatout Video Game Review for the XBox, Playstation 2 (PS2) and the PC

July 26th, 2008 No Comments   Posted in Articles

By Miranda Stites
FlatOut is a playful race car game with little realism. Like most race car games the vehicles get banged up on the way to the finish line, but this game does not alter the handling of the vehicles based on how badly damaged they become. Your car can be smoking or on fire, but it will never quit on you or explode like you might expect. It handles the same from the time you start the track until the time you complete the track. The only thing that alters the way the cars handle is the upgrades that are purchased.

You will start the game by creating a profile for your driver. There is a choice of regular or professional for the experience level and a choice of male or female for the driver’s gender. Once a profile has been rendered you can purchase the vehicle that you want to use (you will start off with enough money to buy any of the cars available). Then you can upgrade the car if you are left with enough money or race the car to gain more money. Money is given for every position that you place in; except for 8th place. You also receive money for crashes as a bonus (even for 8th place).

Pros and Cons for Xbox, PS2 and GameCube - Part II

When it comes to buying a home console, the most important aspect is the games offer on the market. After all, you are getting the Xbox, the GameCube or the PS2 for playing games, not for studying!

The games aspect can be interpreted in this manner: some customers are looking for a certain kind of games; others are not interested in the quality of the games, but in the quantity. Therefore, the games criterion varies from one individual to another.

Consequently, before buying an Xbox, a GameCube or a PS2, you first have to decide what kind of games you like, and buy the console system that is more suitable for your taste. You should always keep in mind that a console system may be extremely fast, may have online support and great controls, but doesn’t have the games you like playing; therefore the home console is not suitable for your needs. For instance, the Xbox has much more games than the GameCube, but not all of them are very good. So, the games quantity aspect is not always enough for deciding on a certain home console.

The Godfather Game Review - PS2

July 26th, 2008 No Comments   Posted in Articles

By Misty Pathster
Right from the beginning of this game you know you are playing something special. The attention to detail of 1940’s New York is amazing. Litter blows around the streets, steam comes up from the sewers and pigeons wander around parks. In the distance from your home in Little Italy you can see the towering empire state building.

The object of the game is to rise through the ranks of the corleone family until you eventually become the Don. The game is made up of both linear and non-linear storylines. At anytime you can follow the storyline or simply go off and grow your crime business.

Pros and Cons for Xbox, PS2 and GameCube - Part III

Hardware is also an aspect that you should take into consideration when choosing a home console. If you are looking for the fastest system, you should be aware of the fact that the three competitors (the Xbox, PS2 and the GameCube) are offering an almost similar gaming experience. But the difference comes in the ability of playing DVD movies or connecting to the Internet.

Slight differences can be found in the hard drive area as the three systems (the PS2, the GameCube or the Xbox) have different memory capabilities. For instance, the GameCube and PS2 use memory cards that have to be bought separately from the main system. On the other hand, the Xbox is using an internal hard drive that is obviously larger than any memory card. Therefore, the Xbox is capable of storing and playing things you download from the Internet like music or extra levels for your game.

By Samual Ennis
If you haven’t played the Need for Speed games for the PS2, it is mainly an arcade style racing game wherein you commence with only a single car to use and you have to contend in all the game’s challenges. For this game, you have to continually enhance the car you’re driving or purchase a new one to make sure you will prevail over your competition as they are going to get tougher as you move further along the game.

The three types of cars that you will be using in Need for Speed are Tuner, Muscle, and Exotic. No matter which of these types of cars you choose as your starter, later on you will be able to unlock other types of cars different from what you initially have. This will also enable you to have a nice variety of cars in your collection.

By Steven Fields
Any serious Playstation 2 (PS2) gamer knows the frustrations when it comes to playing the most graphically intense games. There is often a tremendous load time associated with getting from the point of putting the PS2 game disc into the console, and having it load the game. Not to mention the time it takes to load between levels. Or how about those times when you’re on a mission to thwart he bad guys, but you see the rendering getting choppy or freezing up for a second or two. We used to blame it all on game glitches or bugs. You know, those little “mistakes” that were just never fixed, because the game itself was working as it should. I know I thought that was the issue. Until I got my hands on the Playstation 2 HD Loader disc, and all of a sudden, my games were “glitch” free, and load times were a thing of the past. Let me start by explaining just what the HD Loader actually is.

Utilizing exciting new technology, The HD Loader allows you to install and run your Playstation 2™ games directly from a hard disk drive connected to your console (Sony PS2 Network adapter™ and compatible hard disk drive required). The HD Loader is a revolutionary piece of software which allows you to store games on any modern high capacity IDE Hard Drive connected to your PS2 (Sony Network adapter required ). Now you can install, delete and manage your games and files on your HDD with just a click of a button. The simple and intuitive multi lingual user interface allows easy navigation and selection of files stored on your Hard drive. Games are executed at lightning speed and accessed directly from the HDD, no need to insert your game disc. Just launch HD Loader and select the game you wish to play.
