A Nintendo Wii Bundle Is A One Stop Shop

May 6th, 2009 Comments Off Posted in Articles

Written by Michelle Bery By now you have certainly heard of the revolutionary new video game platform, the Nintendo Wii. Unlike anything that has come before it, the Wii makes the players part of the game with its revolutionary new control system. The Wii controller is a wireless remote control that senses movements in three dimensions. That remote sensing technology allows you to eschew the conventional buttons and joysticks that have been the standard for video games for decades. Instead, of pushing buttons or moving a stick, you move your arms; gesturing, swinging, poking, and sometimes flailing your way through the game! If you want to experience this amazing new game platform for yourself it can be difficult to know exactly what to purchase in order to have everything you need to enjoy the Wii experience. That is why the Nintendo Wii bundle is such an enticing option.

Purchased by itself, the Wii comes with a remote control - officially called a Wiimote - and a Nunchuk controller; an analog joystick that attaches to the Wiimote using a long cable. The Nunchuk also has the internal accelerometer that the Wiimote possesses, so it too is capable of motion sensing as well. The Nunchuk is to be used in conjunction with the Wiimote and it serves to enhance the game play experience. Further, the Wii includes all the power cords, audio-video cords, and the sensor bar and stands that you need to get started. Most important, the Wii includes Wii Sports, a game that lets you test your skills on the golf course, baseball diamond, bowling alley, boxing ring, and tennis court; it is the perfect platform to demonstrate the things the Wii can do. However, for those who want to see all the Wii is capable of doing, then you need more than the basic offerings, and a Nintendo Wii Bundle can deliver precisely that.

The Wii’s Universal Appeal

Unless your name is Rip Van Winkle and you have just awakened from an extremely long nap, I’m sure you have heard of the Nintendo Wii gaming system. It made its debut on the U.S. market during the 2006 Christmas season, and now, more than two years after its release, it is so popular that it is still in short supply in many parts of the United States. In fact, it is not uncommon for local news outlets to still feature stories of retailers who get a supply of Wii gaming consoles delivered and the resulting lines and waiting lists that occur!

In part, the appeal of the Wii can be explained by the wide variety of games it offers: sports, arcade, action, role-playing – there is literally something for everyone. Even people who have never before had any interest in video games find themselves attracted to the Wii and the entertainment value it provides. Truly, the allure of the Wii knows no bounds, and anyone can enjoy it, from the very young to the very old.

Wii Sports Resort, more stock problems for Nintendo?

May 6th, 2009 Comments Off Posted in Articles

Written by Video Games Nintendo announced Wii Sports Resort in 2008 for release sometime in 2009. Wii Sports Resort has been referred to as the follow up to Wii Sports, or an improved version of Wii Sports.

This new game builds on the Wii’s motion sensitive controller by providing a more accurate version of a sports game. To do this Nintendo are producing a new piece of hardware called WiiMotion Plus. WiiMotion Plus is a hardware dongle that clips onto the base on the Wii remote hand controller.  This enables the Wii remote to track a player’s movements far more accurately than before.

Just like the Wii balance board, WiiMotion Plus could almost become a platform on its own. Electronic Arts have already announced the new version of Tiger Woods PGS Tour and EA Sports Tennis will support WiiMotion Plus.

The Wii Balance Board Story

May 6th, 2009 Comments Off Posted in Articles

Written by Martin Graf It’s now been just over a month since Wii Fit was launched in the United States and although response to the game has been mixed, overall it has been a huge success, showing once again why Nintendo continues to lead the video games market. In the run-up to the launch of Wii Fit, the Nintendo marketing machine went into overdrive and the buzz surrounding the game was phenomenal but what many people seemed to miss was the real innovation behind the game, namely the Wii Balance Board.

Described by some as a glorified bathroom scale, this amazing peripheral is as revolutionary as the Wii Remote was when it was first launched, and like the Wii Remote, it will have Microsoft and Sony playing catch-up as they try to bring the same functionality to their consoles. When the excitement of Wii Fit dies down, it will be the Wii Balance Board that’s remembered as the device that took gaming to the next level.
